Stream to PS3 From Windows 8.1

Step 1. Make  sure  your  PC  and  PlayStation 3  are both on the  same network  or this  will not  work.

Step 2. Go to  the  control panel of  your PC  and  locate  NETWORK AND INTERNET click on the sub link for HOMEGROUP AND SHARING

Step 3. Click  on  allow all devices  such as TVs and GAME CONSOLES to play  my  shared  content.  When  you  open this  window  you should  see an  unknown  device this is the PlayStation 3 if it is  blocked  unblock  the  device by  clicking  the  appropriate  check mark (if  you  do  not  see your  PlayStation power up the  device,  if  you  do not see it after you  turn it on  switch  to  all networks  at the top of the  window.  Scroll until you see the  unknown  device and  allow it  as  described  above.)

Step 4. Click the customize  button  on this  tab and   adjust the settings  for the content you  want  to share. Apply  your  actions by  clicking OK  and  then hit  NEXT,  a  window  will show  up  set  the  items you  want  shared and click NEXT.

SET UP  YOUR  MEDIA  CONTENT

Step 1. Open  up Windows Media Player and click the Stream tab  and  chose  the 3rd  option. ok any  windows  and  set  any  options  here this  will  look  familiar

step 2. Click  organize, Manage libraries  and follow the  prompts  to add  content  to your  shared library for the PS3  to  find in each category.

Step 3. Go to  your PS3 and  search for media servers “note  make sure  you Leave Windows Media open” once the PS3  has located  all content  you  wont have to  have Media player on. it  will  find your  computer  and create an Icon on  your menu. (when streaming  PC content make sure the item is always on when streaming from the device)

step 4. navigate  thru  your  content  on your PC from the PS3  if  you  dont  see  anthing  right away the first  time be patient  it takes  a bit  for the content to populate. once its there youll be able to access the  content  any time your PC is  powered on.
